The Story of Cupcake

All right, my week in a nutshell: got multiple mean texts and emails from my father saying I'm gonna be a fast food worker for the rest of my life, got criticized because of the underwear I own and my refusal to wear thongs, my other cat is sick, I talked to Riko and sort of made peace with him (still not sure about that), lost a bet to Stephan because of Riko, found out that I don't have to go to my 8:00 class until Feburary 11th, went to Rachel's boyfriend's house for fried chicken and chocolate pie and now I am currently sitting in Ashley's room doing a blog post because I finally have the motivation and in order to avoid of a bunch of friends who are kinda sorta totally smashed and keep offering me vodka and Monster (all right, I'll be honest and say I had a sip and it tasted pretty decent but after that I was out of the room).

MOVING ON.

I should be doing a 30 day post, but seriously, none of the prompts are floating my boat right now. So I turned to my handy dandy 642 Things to Write About and found a more decent one. So the prompt I will be using is to write about my prom dress.

Everyone, I would like to introduce you to Cupcake:

Cupcake is my senior prom dress.

I have been fantasizing about my prom since elementary school, so when senior year finally rolled around, I was so fucking excited. Every waking moment of my life for the summer before my senior year was spent looking at dresses online, and it got to the point where Riko banned me from talking about it until after soccer season.

So after soccer season, I finally got the dress of my dreams.

On President's Day (the day when EVERYONE IN THE WORLD decided to do the same thing), my mother, grandmother and I went to this big ass dress store in Pennsylvania to find my prom dress. We were there all fucking day trying on dresses. Cupcake was actually one of the first dresses I tried on and I was able to put it on hold so I could try on other dresses. I ended up trying on Cupcake a second time and I knew I was in love.

When I got back to school, I showed everyone a picture of me in Cupcake....except Riko. I was determined to keep everything but the color a surprise from him, even after we broke up (since it was a month before prom and he said he would still take me), and seeing his face when he saw Cupcake for the first time was absolutely priceless. He always denied being extremely excited and anxious to see Cupcake, but his friends told me otherwise.

I got a lot of compliments about Cupcake from my classmates once we got to our prom venue, and even though the weight of the dress made my corset bra dig into my waist and gave me some very painful bruises, it was worth getting to look like a princess for a day.

As of right now, Cupcake is hanging up next to my grandmother's wedding dress in my basement.
