Books I Love (Day 3/30)

The prompt said "a book you love". I've read too many books in my lifetime to pick one. So it's gonna be my top 3.

Harry Potter

I can't even tell you how many times I read this series. Second semester of my junior year of high school, I managed to finish the entire series by the week before finals by reading it for 2 periods (study hall and chem. I almost failed chem. Riko saved my ass, I'll admit to it).

I grew up with this series. I think my mother introduced this series when I was in first or second grade. At first I hated it - we went to see Sorcerer's Stone when it was in theaters and it scared the shit out of me and grossed me out - so I refused to read the books. But then when I was fourth grade (I think, I don't remember. I'm old) we went to Baltimore for a week, and my mom and I went to see Prisoner of Azkaban (honestly, that's the only thing I remember from that trip), and I think it was then that I gave in and started to read the books.

If I could bring these books back to school with me, I would in a heartbeat. But Denise wouldn't let me. Dammit.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

My friend Cindy got me this book a few years back for my birthday. It's hilarious, and sometimes when I read it I'm reminded of my own writing style except with way less dialogue. If I need to present a monologue, or if I have to give an example of presenting by reading an excerpt from something, I always pick this book.

The Kingdom Keepers

I love Disney. Anything involving Disney I love. I heard about this series online, and I finally bought a copy of the first book while I was in Disney World this past July. Here's a one-sentence, spoiler-free synopsis:

Shit goes down in Disney World at night.

And it's awesome.

I'm currently on the second book right now (been on it for the past 2 months), and it really is a guilty pleasure for people who love Disney World (like me).

And those are all the ones I can think about at the moment. I'm sure I'll think of more later, but I'll be too lazy to add on. Plus I got to do another post tonight.

Blogging while I research for a speech about blogging. This is fun.
