NYC, Pt. 2 (4/5 - 4/8/2013)

OMG you guys. Words cannot fully describe the epic awesomeness of this trip. I will try my best.

Also, I apologize for the lack of video. Since our group was walking around at 1000 mph, I was more focused on watching where I was walking so I wouldn't be separated from anyone.

Friday we were just about to leave campus when I realized that I left my phone on my bed. So I literally sprinted back to the dorms only to realize that I left my key in my suitcase. So I had to wait for someone to let me in.

Anyway, twelve hours later, we arrived at our hotel in New York City. Our hotel was in an absolutely perfect location, since Times Square was literally around the corner. So we dropped our shit off, got changed, ate some pizza and headed to Times Square, where President Gordon showed us around the area:

He also took around Central Park, Columbus Circle, and Columbia University (which was gorgeous. Major college envy from all of us).

Saturday was when all the excitement happened.

So we started off Saturday by going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art:

And by noon, my phone was almost dead from all the pictures I took. Go Android.

After the museum, we went to lunch and had free time to explore. Rachel and I used that opportunity to  get our shopping done. We stopped at the NBC Store and Nintendo World in Rockefeller Center, and the Disney, Hershey and M&M stores in Times Square. On our way back to the hotel, we were passing a few theaters and one had a crowd gathered around the entrance. Some of the people in the back said it was probably TOM FUCKING HANKS, since he was doing a show at that theater, but someone else assured that it wasn't Tom Hanks, but his costar. He then said that Tom would be making his appearance that night. It was a bummer.

Then along came dinner.

For dinner, we ate at this Cuban place down the street from Times Square. As we were waiting for our food, Rachel got excited and pointed out someone at the table directly across from us:

GABRIEL. FUCKING. IGLESIAS.

Of course, since he's one of my favorite comedians of all time, I started flipping shit.

When he was finished eating, the table next to us asked him if they could take pictures, and he immediately agreed. After they were done, our chaperone asked if he could take pictures with us too, and he gladly said yes! He asked where we were from, and commented that the name of our college was pretty damn awesome. He made a different face for each picture, and it was hilarious! Excuse my ugly-ass mug. I was trying not to flip shit.

I was so tempted to send all this to Riko since he's the one who got me into Gabriel's comedy in the first place, but then I remembered that we're not talking...oh well. Don't you have moments like that?

So after that fucking epically awesome dinner, we saw Annie. It was awesome. But nothing compares to meeting your favorite comedian at dinner. Just saying.

Sunday started with the Museum of Natural History:

"I AM A STEGOSAURUS"
We were only in there for an hour and it wasn't as awesome as the art museum.

Afterwards, we got lunch and was given a private tour of the World Trade Center by the owner himself. It was very cool. We were also able to visit the 9/11 memorial:

From the memorial, President Gordon took us down Wall Street to see Federal Hall:

Don't even bother trying to look for me....
After that we took the subway to Chinahell. Now, I told you all what happened the last time I was in Chinahell. Well this time in Chinahell, we were walking down the street when this guy tries to grab my shoulders while asking me for a massage.

Yeah.

Fortunately, President Gordon treated us to some legit gelato, which made me feel much better. After the gelato, we headed to the Empire State Building:

And now, we're back in Ohio.

I can't even compare this to my last trip. This trip was amazing. I felt like I was there forever when I've only been there for a few days. It was just...again, no words can describe. None.

Shout out to my brosauce J. Lynch on his birthday and to Peno's lovely friends that I'm dying to meet. And to my friends that read this too. Love y'all.

There might not be another post for a while because of finals coming up. It all depends.
